Mr. ShalmanThis is my 2nd year at Cleveland High School - and I am thrilled to be apart of the learning community! Some of my favorite things include traveling, hiking, backpacking, camping, reading, and general adventuring. Most importantly, I love learning, science, and all of the places that those topics interact. My passion is to encourage youth to develop an intercultural understanding, be openminded, and cultivate the attitudes necessary to respect and evaluate multiple perspectives.

Patterns PhysicsWelcome to Patterns Physics! This is a lab-based physics course designed for first-year high school students. Using the processes of scientific inquiry, engineering, and critical thinking, students will discover and apply patterns in the context of major physics concepts: motion, forces, momentum, energy, waves, and electromagnetism. This course aims to develop students' mathematical, problem solving, scientific literacy, and technical communication skills that will be useful in upper level sciences courses and many post-high school career pathways. I am excited to explore this fascinating and incredible subject with you throughout the school year!
